These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ShopLink (the "App"), a mobile and web application that connects customers with local shops and sellers for browsing, ordering, and communicating about products. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who Can Use ShopLink
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide (including your name, email address, and any addresses you add) is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.
2. Accounts and Roles
ShopLink supports two types of accounts:
- Customer accounts, used to browse shops, place orders, message sellers, and leave ratings.
- Owner (seller) accounts, used to list products, manage a shop profile, fulfill orders, and communicate with customers.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may sign in using an email/password or through Google Sign-In. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. Shops, Products, and Orders
Shops and product listings are created and maintained by independent sellers using the App. ShopLink does not manufacture, own, warehouse, or sell the products listed by shops, and does not guarantee the accuracy of product descriptions, pricing, availability, or images posted by sellers.
When you place an order through the App, you are entering into a transaction directly with the shop that owns the listing. Payment, fulfillment, delivery, and refund arrangements are agreed upon between you and the shop unless the App states otherwise at checkout. ShopLink is not a party to that transaction and is not responsible for a shop's failure to fulfill an order, for defective or misdescribed products, or for payment disputes between customers and shops.
4. In-App Messaging
ShopLink provides in-app chat so customers and shop owners can communicate about orders and products. You agree to use chat only for legitimate, order-related communication and not to send unlawful, abusive, harassing, or fraudulent messages. We may review reported messages to enforce these Terms.
5. Ratings and Reviews
Customers may leave ratings and reviews for shops and orders. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. You may not post false, defamatory, or manipulated reviews (including reviews for orders you did not place). Shop owners may not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- List counterfeit, stolen, illegal, or prohibited goods;
- Impersonate another person or shop, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the App or its backend services;
- Use the App to collect other users' personal information for purposes unrelated to a legitimate order or inquiry;
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or violates a third party's rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or create risk or legal exposure for ShopLink or other users.
7. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as product photos, shop descriptions, chat messages, and reviews), but you grant ShopLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the App as necessary to operate the service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload.
8. Notifications
By using the App, you consent to receive order updates, chat alerts, and other service-related notifications. You may be able to manage certain notification preferences from within the App's settings.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or if required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as Sections 3, 7, 10, and 11) will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any product listed by a shop will meet your expectations.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShopLink and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App or any transaction between customers and shops, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
